The first MABEG RS 106 Reel Sheeter has been running on a KBA RA 106 system for around a year at the Hofmann printing plant. Trouble-free and even sheet feeding directly from the reel sheeter is essential for smooth running of the printing press. Together with the savings that can be made in terms of paper procurement costs, the commercial case for use of the in-line reel sheeter in combination with highly-productive offset printing presses is clear. "What we were particularly impressed with on the MABEG RS 106 was its ease of operation and its excellent reliability", explains Technical Director Jürgen Ostendorf.
We have now completed the second installation – on a Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106 unit. "MABEG offers many different layout options for the reel sheeter and is able to individually tailor it to the space we have available for installation. Thanks to this, we were able to successfully fine-tune our logistics paths in our existing hall with pillars", adds Mr Ostendorf. "This flexibility and the robustness of the system persuaded us that another MABEG machine would be the right choice particularly on the Heidelberg printing press."
The tried-and-tested MABEG RS family of reel sheeters is available in sheet sizes 3B and 6 and can be connected to all offset printing presses. Thanks to the short face-to-face length and the different layout options that are available, the system can be retrofitted even in restricted space conditions, thus enabling our customers to take full advantage of the commercial benefits of in-line reel sheeter technology.
