With the first delivered reel sheeter with register cut by watermark, MABEG created a new, highly specialized product line. This first standalone reel sheeter with a stacker is based on the MABEG reel sheeter for sheet offset printing machines, tried and tested more than 300 times. Reel sheeter RS 106 RC – RC for register cut – is equipped with a camera system with image analysis, able to read any existing watermark. With this system, sheets for banknote production or other uses can be cut not only by cutmarks, but also by the watermark itself. Of course, the RS 106 RC can also be used for cutting commercial print webs produced by web-fed printing.
The compact and extremely user-friendly concept is a particular highlight. With a length of only 7.5 meters and a feed path accessible from all sides, the RS 106 RC is a compact, easy to use machine, allowing for extremely fast job changeover. With this system, MABEG offers a product for printing companies and paper manufacturers that closes the gap in the market below the big cutter-sorters. Whether in security printing or in commercial printing, this product facilitates a flexible and efficient processing of small and medium sized orders also without long set-up times.
The delivered RS 106 RC is used for the processing of security papers with watermarks, holograms and integrated silver threads. It features a web width of 400 – 1060 mm, with an infinitely adjustable cutoff length of 420 – 1010 mm.
The RS 106 RC is the newest member in MABEG’s product family for security printing companies and banknote manufacturers. The MABEG MSP 106 is already a well-established platform for banknote and paper inspection. It is typically used for transmittive light inspection and reflective light inspection of sheet surface and bottom in a single step. High-resolution camera systems with an illumination in the white light range, UV and IR wavelengths are commonly used for a one-step-control of numerous safety features. Faulty sheets are automatically rejected in the process. Naturally, all units can also be equipped with Track&Trace-technologies.
